We all to some degree know that our health should be taken care of. Yet, how many of us can honestly say they’re very cautious with their health.

The issue of health has become so common to most of us that we’ve become inconsiderate of it. Talk to a layman about the need to eat well and exercise, you’ll find that they know something about all that. But do they care about all that? Not at all.

We hear of cancers ripping people off from our societies, but taking some time out of our busy schedules to test for it seems too much for most people. We’re surrounded by voices that call for a need to engage in regular exercising, but very few do a thing about it. So I believe we need to reconsider the issues of better living and productivity in the workplace.

The idea of work and exercise maybe baffling to some, but it does matter. But now, what should we expect when talking about healthy lifestyle?  And why should we even dare to look into it?

A healthy lifestyle is a way of living that lowers the risk of being seriously ill or dying early. – WHO

So according to the above conception of healthy lifestyle it becomes apparent why we can’t just be uncaring about our bodily health. I mean nobody desires to die early or live with chronic illnesses. At least according to my knowledge.

And we need to understand that health isn’t just about not eating certain things. It’s about being mindful of our physical, mental and social well-being.  We all need a way of living that will enable our enjoyment of all aspects of life. Don’t we? Or am I being too general about this?

According to WHO, “Whatever your age, physical activity plays an important part in your health and wellbeing. Some people think it is only sportsmen and women who need to build Physical Activity into their lives. However, EVERYONE needs to keep their bodies working well in order to be healthy.”

The above captures the reality of our societies, things like healthy diet and regular exercising are often regarded as a sphere only for athletes and not for all of us. But this understanding has cost us many lives. Most of the illnesses- high blood pressure and overweight-  could’ve been avoided if only everyone cared about their health and surrounding issues.

It is an established fact that physical activity is necessary to stimulate the body’s own natural maintenance and repair system. Your bones, joints and muscles – especially your heart – will actually stay younger if you keep them busy.

If you are not physically active, you increase your Health Risks in many ways. At the same time for those who are already PHYSICALLY ACTIVE and use some parts of their body in their WORK it is suggested that you may need to find opportunities to use other parts in different ways to maintain a balance between STAMINA, STRENGTH, and SUPPLENESS.
