The Lesotho Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS (LENEPWHA) is an umbrella body of Community based organisations of People living with HIV in Lesotho. LENEPWHA’s focus areas are HIV prevention, advocacy and impact mitigation targeting People living with HIV both as beneficiaries and service providers to peers in need of HIV related services. LENEPWHA is currently sub-granted by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and EGPAF (through funding from USAID, CDC and UNITAID) and Karabo ea Bophelo through USAID funding.
Under the Karabo ea Bophelo (KB) OVC project LENEPWHA seeks suitable candidates to fill the following positions:
YOUTH MENTORS X 92
Key Responsibilities
- Report to Youth Officer
- Under the support and supervision of Youth Officers, organise families and community structures for enhancement of their capacity for OVC care.
- Roll out assigned KB package including:
- Creating Safe spaces and social assets, Homework Clubs, community PSS groups, Teen Clubs, and SILC groups;
- Provision of School support as mentors / tutors to OVCs;
- Life skills and SRH, including HIV knowledge from completion of life skills courses, and
- Employment and enterprise development facilitated by public-private partnership (PPP) and SILC group support.
Requirements:
- COSC as minimum qualification;
- Experience working with community initiatives;
- Engagement with support group on health/social development initiatives;
- People living openly with HIV are encouraged to apply.
