1. Job Summary
The purpose of the job is to mobilize the community and facilitate advocacy
sessions.
2. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Economic Strengthening Coordinator, the Youth Advocate is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
• Advocate and complement the National Internship Program;
• Mobilize the business community and work with other cadres to link with the support from different partners locally and at the national level;
• Support investment models and possible partnership models;
• Facilitate engagement sessions with business actors, other adolescent girls and facilitate interface sessions with different stakeholders;
• Facilitating discussions and come up with the solutions for supporting
access to education by AGYW;
• Facilitate the advocacy sessions;
• Engaging with the Business owners and private sector to mobilise resources for sustained support of this program;
• Mentorship of the AGYW beyond the life of the project;
3. Job Requirements:
• COSC;
• 1year experience in a similar role and working with children, adolescents and young people;
• Adherence and knowledge of health, child protection, Prevention of
Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and education issues;
• Excellent record of working children and young people. No past allegations of SEA and child abuse;
• Ability to function with mature judgement, tact and diplomacy
ensuring that Sentebale Policies and procedures are consistently
complied with at all times;
• Ability to work flexible schedules including occasional evenings and
weekends as may be necessary;
• Ability and flexibility to travel as needed including overnight stays;
• Ability to sustain excellent relationships with external partners and stakeholders;
