Winder 2nd Assistant ( P15 )
Sappi Stanger Mill requires a Winder 2nd Assistant to assist the winder operator in operating the winder safely and efficiently, resulting in a quality product.
This role reports into the: Production Foreman.
The main responsibilities of this job are:
- Load and unload unwind station
- Feed the winder
- Maintains a high level of good housekeeping and safety in the workplace at all times
- Load loose broke into trolley
- Act as 1st Assistant Winderman during his absence
- Assist in cutting cores and cling wrapping reels
- Load cores onto shaft
- Inspect quality of webs
- Assists on shuts, cleaning and first-line maintenance as required by the Winder Operator or Foreman.
- Adhere to environmental policy and procedures
- Reduces wastes and prevents spills
- Meet environmental targets that apply to his sphere of influence
- Complies with hazardous chemical handling procedure
- Complies with environmental legal requirements
- Understand & comply with all SHEQ requirements of the job.
- Identify and take corrective action in terms of SHEQ conditions and hazards.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Matric + Full N1 Pulp & Paper
- Or NQF Level 4 Paper Board
- 6 months working experience in a manufacturing industry
- Crane Drivers Licence
- Computer Literacy
