Who may enter
The competition is open to all artists, both amateur and professional, aged 17 years and over.
Short description

The Wildlife Artist of the Year is an annual wildlife art competition organized by the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.

Entries must correspond to one of the seven categories:

• Animal Behaviour
• Earth’s Wild Beauty
• Facing Extinction
• Human Impact (for artists aged 16 to 22)
• Into the Blue
• Urban Wildlife
• Wings

Mediums can include oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, mixed media, bronze, plaster, wire, collage and textiles with styles encompassing traditional, abstract, monochrome and many others – the choice is yours.

Photography or digital artworks are not accepted in this competition.

All entries must be sent in a digital format.

Entry fees
The entry fee is £25 per an artwork for the first two entries, thereafter it is £15 per entry.
Entry to the ‘Human Impact’ category for young people is £15 per entry.
Prizes
• First prize: £5,000 personal cash prize and £5,000 conservation voucher (donated to a DSWF project of the winner’s choice)
• Second prize: £1,000 personal cash prize and a £1,000 conservation voucher (donated to a DSWF project of the runner-up’s choice)
• 7 category winners: £500 each
