What works, what doesn’t, and why – Resilience insights from essential sectors

We look forward to welcoming you to the next National Consortium for Societal Resilience [UK+] (NCSR+) webinar held jointly with the Resilience Beyond Observed Capabilities Network+ (RBOC+) project.

Essential sectors are dedicated to helping people who are the most vulnerable in society and play an important part of the support system during a disruption such as flooding. Sectors that provide support to meet essential needs have to be resilient to disruptions so that they can continue to provide support no matter what the situation.

This webinar will focus on how local resilience partnerships can better understand and strengthen the resilience of an essential sector, as well as the vital role of social housing providers in supporting vulnerable people who have an essential need.

Date: 28th January 2025, 2.00pm-3.30pm (UK time)

Our speakers:

  • Róisín Jordan, PhD Researcher, AMBS, The University of Manchester
  • Chloe Fox, Interim Head of Safety and Resilience, and Melissa Kenney, Business Continuity Advisor, Abri Group

This webinar will provide a preview of the third NCSR+ module on “Building the resilience of an essential sector to support vulnerable persons”. The first two modules on how to create a Local Resilience Capability are available to download at this webpage.
