Wells Art Contemporary (WAC) Awards is an international open competition for contemporary visual arts which has established a strong presence in the London art world and which is drawing artists from places as diverse as Australia, Azerbaijan, India, Italy, Korea, Japan and the United States. Open to artists working in painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, installation or video.

In order to enter the competition, you shall complete an online application form.

All selected works will be exhibited at the Wells Cathedral.


2021 Winners

The Howden Art Award of £2,000 has been awarded to Judith Jones for her work Rural Retreat.

Entry fees
The entry fee is £15 per work.
The entry fee for students is £12 per work.
Prizes
• Howden Art Award: £2,000 awarded to one artist
• People’s Choice Prize: £500
• NG Art Creative Residency: The Prize Winner will receive a free two-week placement at the NG Art Creative Residency in Eygalieres, Provence.
