VACANCY: WELDERS (3 POSITIONS)
The welder will be responsible for performing high-quality welding, fabrication and repair work on steel components and structures. This includes working with mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and hard-facing applications.
The role requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, correctly apply welding symbols and execute various welding processes to meet structural, dimensional and quality standards. The welder will ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently, in line with production requirements and company quality procedures.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work from instructions and prints to arrange parts into welding fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints and/or sketches to determine the parts required.
- Set up welding machines and adjust settings.
- Visually examine welds to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Fabricate welded components as required by internal or customer drawings and specifications.
- Perform various welding processes, such as MIG, TIG and ARC, depending on job requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all SHEQ and OHS procedures.
- Work under minimum supervision.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- Operate welding and fabrication tools safely, including grinders, welding machines, cutting torches and drill machines.
- Experience and skills with basic [as specified in the original advert] will be an added advantage.
- Identify defects, perform corrective actions and assist in the continuous improvement of the welding process.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate in Welding and Boilermaking or a Certificate in Fitting and Machining.
