JOB TITLE: WEBSITE DESIGNER

REPORTS TO: SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
– To analyze, design and develop websites and web portals for the company’s clients
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Design and develop websites, web portals, multimedia layouts, graphics, and content for use in presentations, websites and other electronic media
– Design web interfaces; develop layout designs and concepts; select and secure appropriate illustrative materials to be used in websites development.
– Websites projects Management
– Produce visually appealing design work
DUTIES
– Present solutions and services in written or verbal reports to clients
– Ensure that solutions provided fully meet the client requirements and visual expectations.
– Project management during the design and implementation of websites and web portal solutions
– Ensure the most appropriate web tools and efficient techniques are applied to projects
– Design reliable, interactive and highly functional websites
– Meet or exceed financial targets
– Provide quality and world class web products and services to clients.
– Defining scopes of projects and developing requirement specifications
– Prepare technical documentation for projects and technical work
– Learning and research on the latest and most appropriate tools for web development

Should possess technical breadth and/or depth in the following technologies (or similar):
1. Knowledge of popular Content Management System (e.g Joomla, WordPress, drupal, Elementor)
2. Cloud Computing Technologies
3. Databases-MySQL, MS SQL and/or ORACLE
4. HTML, XML, JavaScript, VB Script, DHTML, Java, Visual Basic, Visual C++
5. IIS, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, FTP, Telnet
6. Intranets e.g. SharePoint Implementation and administration
7. Network infrastructure configuration – latest Windows OS – Workstation/Server and TCP/IP
8. Modern Web Design automation tools
9. Proxy Servers, News Servers and Directory Servers
10. Internet systems configuration for e-mail, www, newsgroups, and web-enabled applications
Only Candidates who meet the below minimum requirements will be considered
– BSc. in Computer Science / MIS or equivalent with knowledge of graphics and website design
– Minimum 2 years of experience designing high impact websites and web portals
– At-least 4 Live websites development in the last 2 years – provide the links to the websites on the CV.
