VOLUNTEER FUNDRAISING AND PARTNERSHIPS COORDINATOR
Time Commitment: 5–6 hours weekly / 20–30 hours monthly

ABOUT THE AFRICAN FEMINIST COLLECTIVE (AFC)
AFC is a pan-African network of 200+ feminist activists and organisations across 18+ countries, working to advance feminist movement-building across the continent.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a motivated volunteer to coordinate AFC’s fundraising and partnerships activities. This role sits at the intersection of our Fundraising Circle and Core Team, driving resource mobilisation and strategic partnerships that sustain our movement-building work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Fundraising
- Coordinate day-to-day fundraising activities across the Collective.
- Serve as the liaison between the Fundraising Circle and the Core Team, ensuring alignment and clear communication.
- Source and identify new funding opportunities (grants, donors, partnerships) relevant to AFC’s mission.
- Maintain and update AFC’s fundraising database and tracker.
- Coordinate the proposal development process, including timelines and contributor input.
- Actively participate in writing and reviewing funding proposals.
2. Partnerships
- Conduct stakeholder mapping to identify and prioritise potential partners.
- Lead partner engagement and relationship-building efforts.
- Populate and maintain partnership assessments to guide decision-making.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience in fundraising, partnerships, resource mobilisation, or grant writing.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with feminist movement spaces (an asset, not a requirement).
- Comfortable using spreadsheets/trackers and collaborative tools.
- Identifies as a feminist, or has a genuine interest in and commitment to feminist values and gender justice.
- Availability for our virtual weekly team meeting from 7PM–9:30PM EAT.

AFC is a young, growing feminist collective, and right now we don’t yet have core funding to support paid staffing. Every member of our Core Team, including our Co-Founders, gives their time voluntarily because we believe deeply in this movement and the community we’re building together.
We don’t take this labour for granted, and we’re working hard towards a future where roles like this one can be fairly compensated as AFC grows.
