Organization information
Founded in 1989, and legally registered in October 1991, Lesotho National Federation of
Organisations of the Disabled (LNFOD) is a non-governmental umbrella body of organisations of persons with disabilities registered in Lesotho dedicated to capacitating organisations of persons with disabilities and empower persons with disabilities socially, economically, and politically through advocacy and capacity building.

Its membership consists of four organisations of persons with disabilities (ODPS), Intellectual Disability and Otism Lesotho (IDAL) formerly known as Lesotho society of mentally handicapped persons (LSMHP), Lesotho National Association of the Physically Disabled (LNAPD), Lesotho National League of the Visually Impaired Persons (LNLVIP), and National Association of the Deaf Lesotho (NADL).

PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to maintain good relations with the stakeholders in the
development sector
JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Edit, produce, and publish monthly disability E-newsletter
  2. Keep and expand readership of the Lesotho disability E-newsletter through creation and
    compilation of the mailing list.
  3. Undertake field visits to the programme region for collection of stories from the
    beneficiaries of LNFOD projects for the purposes of advocacy at the national level.
  4. Encourage and liaise with the key disability stakeholders to write about their experiences
    and work they do for persons with disabilities.
  5. Manage and update LNFOD communication channels including website and social media
    platforms on regular basis.
    Education experience and competences
    N.B this is a part time voluntary position providing the incumbent with the minimum allowance for the time spent at the project.
    • As a result, only youth applications between the age of 18-35 will be considered.
    • 1-year demonstrable experience in the communication field is required.
    • The applicant should have at least a Diploma in Mass Communication or any other related
    field.
    • Be computer proficient with the ability to use various applications
    • Must be able to use and create accessible and inclusive web content for persons with
    disabilities.
    • Must have photographing skills
    • Must be interested in the promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities. Being a member of organisations of persons with disabilities is an added advantage.
    • Girls and young women with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
