Job Description

Chili Piper is seeking an experienced Video Editor/Motion Graphics Designer to support our growing creative and video department. In 2021 we’ve grown from less than 4K video views per month to well over 70K video views per month, reporting to the Head of Video and Creative Content this role will play a key part in ensuring that we not only maintain these numbers but also continue to scale our reach and influence through our ongoing and future video projects.

The video editor/motion graphics designer should possess a producer’s mentality and be able to successfully own, produce, and edit narrative, social, and promotional pieces from script to screen. They should be able to keep pace with weekly video output across our channels and contribute to ideation and weekly brainstorming sessions. The editor/motion graphics designer should possess experience in creating and editing short-form, long-form, branded, and raw content, with a strong skillset in motion graphic animation/design and storytelling.

What You’ll Do

  • Edit branded, social, and narrative video content
  • Create and animate motion graphic assets
  • Own assigned video projects throughout the entire production process from conception, pre-production to the final edit, and distribution, while keeping all stakeholders informed
  • Track deliverables through post-production in Asana
  • Ideate future video concepts alongside the rest of the video and creative team
  • Demonstrate and communicate video best practices to stakeholders and on-screen talent
  • Ensure company and branding standards are consistent across video and motion graphic deliverables

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • 3-5 years of video editing experience
  • 2-3 years of experience of motion graphic experience
  • General video production experience (camera, lighting, sound, and talent direction)
  • A strong online portfolio that makes people feel something
  • B2B SaaS experience (startup experience is a bonus)
  • Well-versed in Adobe Suite including Adobe Premiere and After Effects
  • Experience with collaboration tools, project management, and data management software like Slack, Asana, and Google Drive.
  • A great collaborator through all parts of production including brainstorming, storyboarding, and execution with the ability to follow workflow guidelines and naming conventions
  • Ability to work in high pressure, fast-paced remote environment with quick turnarounds
  • Ability to adapt to changes in production plan/schedules
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail/accuracy
  • Ability to give and receive constructive criticism high emotional intelligence
  • Autonomous The ability to take direction, but needs little oversight to get the job done
  • Highly creative and proactive Constantly looking for ways to improve his/her skills while staying on top of what’s relevant in the industry
  • Eager to learn Having a positive attitude and amenable to a variety of tasks in order to gain real-world hands-on experience
