VP of Technology/ArchitectureWe are looking for a Vice President of Technology who will be responsible for providing thought leadership and strategic vision for the overall technical direction and strategy for our products. S/he will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain the technology that meets the company and its user/customer needs. The position will be particularly aligned with the engineering teams to ensure that the architectural roadmap can be supported by existing or future skill sets, is taken into consideration in their day to day work and serves the team goals for continuous delivery and operational excellence. The VP of Technology will lead and execute research activities, quick prototypes/PoCs and cost/benefit analyses for all major new initiatives, with assistance from engineers allocated to specific activities for specific periods of time. S/he will be also working closely with the VP of Engineering, in order to align delivery with the definition and execution of the architectural roadmap.

Job will be reporting to the COO.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and prototype the technical architectural roadmap for the company
  • Plan the information technology future for the organization
  • Support changes in and maintenance of current systems and applications
  • Balance the need for long term technology growth and development with near-term execution
  • Coordinate with business partners and develop strategies to implement various IT solutions effectively
  • Administer effective delivery of all research and prototyping projects with appropriate budget and timeframe
  • Evaluate the current system and technology and recommend modification to present modules to ensure effectiveness
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging trends and initiate appropriate decisions for various technology
  • Administer and develop growth strategies for the company through various information technology plans
  • Responsible for all RnD initiatives around new technologies for the whole company (Identifies, recommends, prototypes and assists in the implementation of new technologies and systems to improve our user experience)
  • Consult on maintenance, licensing, and purchase of all information technology software systems

Job requirements

  • Wide and deep practical experience in multiple modern, scalable, high performance application stacks (e.g. Kubernetes, microservices, distributed databases, distributing messaging platforms).
  • A proven practitioner of agile leadership with the flexibility to change priorities in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Technically active, inquisitive, and astute, able to lead wide-ranging technical conversations with stakeholders, partners and team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communications skills with the ability to work with members across the organization to achieve success.
  • Proven success in delivering key business initiatives while reducing cost and inefficiencies.
  • Excellent organization skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks and deliver results within critical deadlines
  • Hands on, eager to assist wherever s/he sees an opportunity for improvement.
