The bi-national Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), of the Kingdom of Lesotho (KOL) and the Republic of South Africa (RSA) is aimed at harnessing the water resources of the highlands of Lesotho for the mutual advantage of Lesotho and the Republic of South Africa.

The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) was set up to implement and operate that part of the LHWP that falls within the borders of Lesotho. LHDA is to embark on Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), a multi-billion-rand Phase involving large scale civil engineering and socio-environmental aspects.  In ensuring that it achieves its mandate, the LHDA places emphasis on its values of caring, professionalism, execution, team work, communication and customer focus.   If you are a Lesotho National espousing the above values and who is interested in progressing their career to the next level, please submit your application for the following permanent position tenable at the LHDA:

Electrical, Control and Protection Technician Trainees (4 positions)HR/ECPTT/14A/19/06/19‘Muela, Katse and Mohale OperationsTo safely and reliably operate and carry out the preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, control and protection equipment and plant associated with the facilities of the LHWP in accordance with operating plans, procedures and rules.Diploma in Electrical Engineering with three (3) years’ relevant experience.
Mechanical Technician TraineeHR/MTT/14A/20/06/19 Katse OperationsTo safely and reliably operate and carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment, protection, control and communication systems associated with the LHWP, in accordance with the operating plans, procedures and rules under the guidance of the shift supervisor.Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with three (3) years’ relevant experience.
Dam Safety Technician TraineeHR/DSTT/14A/21/06/19Katse OperationsTo monitor, repair and maintain the LHWP Water Retaining structures through instruments, surveys and visual inspections, as well as implement Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPP) through awareness campaigns.Diploma in Civil Engineering with three (3) years’ relevant experience.  
Safety, Health and Environment Officer (2 positions – five year contract)HR/SHEO/14A/22/06/19Katse and Mohale OperationsTo ensure good practice in terms of Plant Safety, Human Resources Safety, Occupational Health, Emergency Preparedness and Environmental issues according to statutory requirements.  Degree in Health and Safety Management or related field with five years’ relevant experience.
Townsites Foreman (2 positions)HR/TF/14A/23/06/19 Katse and Mohale OperationsTo effectively manage the operations and maintenance of LHDA Camp facilities.A Diploma in a Technical Qualification e.g. civil, mechanical, electrical engineering with at least 3 years’ experience in maintenance issues including water supply and sewerage treatment plants.
Civil Technician TraineeHR/CTT/14A/24/06/19Mohale OperationsTo implement civil-related projects and carry out maintenance (operational and civil activities) for the Branch.  Diploma in Civil Engineering with three (3) years’ relevant experience.
Public Relations Assistant (2 positions)HR/PRA/14A/25/06/19 Katse and Mohale OperationsTo assist the Public Relations Officer in projecting a favourable image of the authority by providing information to the citizens of Lesotho, regional and international tourists regarding the activities of the LHWP and the resulting benefits to the public.Diploma in Public Relations or related field with three years’ relevant experience.
