The Management of the Lesotho Electricity Company (Pty) Ltd (LEC) would like to inform all customers and the public at large that according to LEC’s application in which it requested tariff increase for the Financial Year 2020/21 from Lesotho Electricity and Water Authority (LEWA); the following has been resolved:
• The LEC’s tariffs be increased by 10.3727% for both Energy and Maximum Demand (MD) for all customer categories for the Financial Year 2021/22.
• There will be a 2 Level Block-increasing tariff with lifeline Tariff for domestic customers. The first block is for consumers using between 0-30 units (kWh) which is priced at M0.7947/kWh. The second Block is for consumers using above 30 units (kWh) which is set at M1.6235/kWh.
• The current charges for connection, wiring testing, wiring re-testing, survey, re-survey, licensing for wiring, meter testing and house extension remain unchanged for the Financial Year 2021/22.
The new tariffs become effective from 01 October 2021.
