Under the Starry Sky – Free program for youth to advance the SDGs

40
Are you between 18-25 years old, and motivated to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? Would you like to gain knowledge about the 2030 Agenda and project management skills, and then implement your own project with the team of your choice?

Apply now for Under the Starry Sky – Youth Action for SDGs!

This nine-month program provides a unique opportunity for young people to receive in-depth training on the SDGs and project management before implementing their own project, with WFUNA’s supervision and guidance. The program will culminate in a multi-day ship expedition in Norway in September 2023, where participants will have the chance to showcase their projects to local businesses and youth.

The program is free of charge, and all costs (including travel, accommodation, and food) are fully covered.

How to register

Applications are open to Norwegian and international youth aged 18-25, and must be made in groups of four by 31 December 2022 via this webpage: wfuna.org/under-the-starry-sky

In the application form, groups will be asked to provide general information about all members of the group and answer the following questions:

  • Why are you interested in joining this program? Why do you want to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?
  • Have you been or are you involved in any extracurricular activities that demonstrate your leadership and commitment to others (volunteer assignments, associative work…)? Have you already implemented any projects? If so, please specify.
  • Have you ever worked as a group? If so, please elaborate on the context/purpose of this collaboration. What will make your team function well together and be successful in the project implementation?

At the end of the form, each group will also have to submit a one-page maximum outline of the project they wish to implement. In their project outline, groups are invited to consider and answer the following questions:

  • What is the envisioned project?
  • Where do you want to implement the project?
  • Who are the beneficiaries of the project?
  • What are the objectives of the project and how do you plan to achieve them?
  • To which SDG(s) does the project contribute?
  • What are the challenges you might encounter with the project?

The project outline remains provisional and can be revised at a later stage.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].
