Job Summary
Roma College of Nursing invites applications for the position of Nurse Tutor. The Tutor will provide academic support and mentoring to nursing and midwifery students, assisting module facilitators with teaching, clinical supervision, and evaluation. The role is intended to strengthen learning outcomes, improve pass rates, and support smooth learner progression across semesters.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach and mentor students in nursing and midwifery modules.
- Collaborate with facilitators in planning, implementation, and evaluation of module content.
- Conduct clinical teaching and supervision.
- Evaluate student progress through tests, assignments, and practical assessments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records.
- Provide one-to-one and group tutoring sessions (minimum 2 hours per module per week; minimum of 3 modules).
- Train Roma CON students in line with the national curriculum, LNC requirements, and the latest protocols of the MoET and MoH.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery.
- Consistent academic average of 80% or more in at least 70% of modules.
- Must be a Roma CON alumnus/alumna who completed studies within the last 2 years.
- Must be a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with a valid practising licence.
Key Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills in English and Sesotho.
- Competence in clinical procedures.
- Ability to coordinate and foster professional relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Priority teaching modules: Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacology, Primary Health Care (PHC).
