JOB TITLE : TRANSPORT OFFICER
GRADE : D
RESPONSIBLE TO : ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
JOB SUMMARY
Under close supervision of the Assistant Administration Officer, the incumbent is responsible for management of the company vehicle, coordinating maintenance and upgrading when necessary. scheduling and monitoring driver’s routes. Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, including the management of driver’s work and vehicle maintenance.
MAIN DUTIES
- Managing and monitoring company fleet
- Responsible for ensuring the safe and secure movement of people and goods.
- Conducting initial investigations of accidents to determine the cause and contributing factors
- Checking and processing Claims of vehicle
- Conducting inspections of vehicles interior and exterior for any damage defects that could cause safety concern during travel.
- Inspecting commercial vehicles for safety hazards such as expired insurance or registration.
- Monitor and control the use of vehicles hired by IEC from the pubic and Imperial Fleet Services Planning.
- Take full charge of drivers and use of vehicles owned by Commission.
- In consultation with Logistic Division plan and Ensure availability of transport when needed.
- Strong dedication to accuracy and efficiency
JOB SPECIFICATION
- At least Diploma in Logistic and transport plus two years working experience
OR
COSC plus at least 5 years driving experience
Some exposure to the position of a supervisor will be an added advantage and defensive driving and valid license with clean driving record.
