JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Administration Officer, Transport Officer will be responsible for acquisition, maintenance, utilization and disposal of Ministry’s fleet;
MAIN DUTIES:-
Acquisitions:
Liase with Service Provider for acquisition of vehicles as when necessary.
Maintenance:
Check vehicles for servicing requirement and or damage and arrange for repairs and or replacement.
Investigate minor problems relating to matters of vehicles performance and prepare associated recommendations.
Fills accident reports and submit to relevant authorities.
Utilization:
Supervise the drivers and allocate vehicles accordingly and to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with Government Regulations.
Controls the parking of vehicles at the end of the working days.
Checks that log books are properly written and signed.
Prepares/ analysis Service Providers information for usage of vehicles to ensure proper usage.
Check that the quantity of petrol consumed is assessed with reference to distance covered.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Diploma in Public Administration Management / Combinations of relevant qualification plus at least Two (2) years experience in the Civil Service.
OR
C.O.S.C plus at least four years’ experience at the level of a driver
- Working in the transport division will be an added advantage.
- Must have Light Vehicle Driver’s Licence.
- Computer literacy.
