JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Transport Inspector, the incumbent is responsible for the effective inspection of transport and traffic in the designated area.
MAIN DUTIES
– Submits reports for transport and traffic to his/her supervisor
– Coordinates the smooth flow of traffic in his area.
– Undertakes the mounting of road traffic checkpoints in his area to ensure that all road users operate according to the provisions of the law.
– Liaises with the relevant personnel during road accidents to ensure
timeous attendance to accidents.
– Attends to complaints and investigates cases involving public transport and reports to the Road Transport Board.
Provides general transport control, undertakes transport needs assessment and identifies new transport routes as and initiative for provision of an efficient, reliable public transport system.
– Monitors all routes to ensure that transport operations are conducted in accordance with the law.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Certificate in Auto Mechanics or in any Technical field.
Possession of a valid driver’s licence (of at least two years experience)
OR
COSC or GCE plus five (5) years experience on transport matters
Possession of a valid driver’s licence (of at least two years experience)
