The position will be based at eMalahleni and the incumbent will report to the Customer Training Manager
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide training to customers and KMC personnel in the safe and efficient operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of KMC equipment. As well as by means of needs analysis design and develop required training and assessment material.
Responsibilities
Job Specification (not totally inclusive)
- Upgrade of training material, lesson plans and simulators to meet SAQA requirements
- Conduct training classes of a high standard, which meets the customer expectations and SAQA requirements
- Design and develop new training material to meet targeted deadlines and ensure customers are trained before they are negatively affected
- Conduct special training classes required by customers that are provided for in the planned training schedule
- Ensure training sessions cover specific topics as stipulated by the Komatsu Mining Corp. course structures
- Ensure training material is in line with technical manuals, parts books, engineering specifications, machine prints and schematics
- Ensure the effectiveness of training is measured by written and practical assessments/reactionnaires to evaluate training progress and to what extent the gap was closed
- Provide timely feedback and recommendations
- Participate in the drive toward SAQA MQA and ISO facility accreditation and the maintenance thereof
- Provide on the job training for mine artisans and technicians
- Wanting to be involved in all issues on products responsible for including operation, marketing. manufacturing and using the product
- Seeing the “bigger picture” w.r.t. life cycle cost, value, support and service
- Discipline: seek to identify inefficiencies and to continuously improve
- Good report writing skills
- Valid Drivers’ license and own reliable vehicle

Education / Qualification
Minimum Skills required
- Grade 12/N3 with Trade qualification in the artisan field in Mechanical or Electrical
- Underground and Surface mining experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Field Service Technician will be advantage
- Extensive in-depth knowledge of various disciplines, including electrical power systems, mechanical & hydraulic systems , electronic control systems, maintenance systems, mining methods and equipment
- Fault finding experience on Surface mining equipment and systems will be an added advantage
- Must be an accredited Assessor will be advantage
- Ability to train; to transfer knowledge and skills effectively
- A working knowledge of South African MHSA and standards, as well as training and documentation directives and requirements
- Knowledge of SAQA Functions/requirements and Unit Standards for Training
