JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Training and Development Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the administration of scholarships, facilitation of awarding and renewal of scholarships for continuing students, overseeing payments of tuition, preparation of budget, and supervision of subordinates.
MAIN DUTIES
- Administration of Awarding Scholarships
1.1 Ascertains that lists from institutions are prepared accordingly based on set quotas.
1.2 Drafts memos to the National Manpower Development Council recommending students for scholarships.
1.3 Receives priority areas from the Ministry as outlined in the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) to be compiled for publication for South African institutions.
1.4 Receives list of programmes and number of slots to be sponsored from donors and disseminates to Assistant Training & Development Officers for further processing.
1.5 Forwards the programmes and slots to the Public Relations Officer for advertising and publication.
1.6 Consolidates lists from different institutions (local, RSA, and international).
1.7 Prepares the contracting schedule with dates per institution and forwards to the Minister responsible for approval.
