The Kingdom of Lesotho has received Financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of Lesotho Lowlands Water Development and Sanitation Project Phase lll. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contracts of youth apprenticeships. The objective of the engagement of youth is to build capacity and strengthen Youth skills to assist them gain necessary experience that will empower them to compete well for emerging job opportunities in the water sector and elsewhere.

The Lesotho Lowland Water Development and Sanitation Project Phase III is therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified Basotho candidates to fill trainee vacancies tenable at offices of Botha-Bothe as follows:

– Hydrologist × (4)

– Public Health Assistant × (4)

– Community Liaison Officer × (4)

– Water Technicians/Engineers × (4)

– Land Use Planning Assistant (4)

Candidates will be attached to Lesotho Lowlands Water and Sanitation Project Phase Ill, Department of Rural Water Supply, Department of Water Affairs and Water and Sewerage Company in Botha-Bothe District. The role of the Trainees in the project will be to assist the Water Sector in a day-to-day activities and will specifically be

expected to understudy the officers on the project for capacity building.

The successful candidates will be under individual employment projects for the duration of not less than six (6) months. The desired candidates are expected to have the following minimum qualifications: –

– A minimum of a University Degree or Diploma in the relevant field obtained from a reputable University or College.

– Be under the age of thirty (30) years.

– A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on Water Sector environment with technicians, contractors, and equipment.

– Strong thinking/problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in teams.

– Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and analytical skills.

– Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn new skills.

– Computer: Good user knowledge of MS Office programs

– Language: Fluent in oral and written English.
