Job Purpose

  • Pro actively manage, support and work with stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient process in delivering Trader Solution and Agency Banking to the target Market.
  • Ensures efficient management of traders, agents, aggregators/distributors, digital platform providers (e.g. Nomanini) and its supporting functions to ensure effective capital utilization that will result in sustained ROE and revenue for the Bank.
  • Ensure timely submission of accurate weekly and monthly reports showing trader performance
  • Ensure that there is sustained use of Bank products to extract value for the Bank.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

1) Profitable Growth in Trader Solution and Agency Banking

  • Ensure timely management of Stocks and restocking (airtime, physical stock) from Suppliers/Distributor and timely distribution to Nomanini.
  • Pro-actively engage with stakeholders (aggregators, Distributors etc.) to monitor customer performance and to explain, promote and sell a range of appropriate product offerings and solutions that meet the financial needs of small business customers.
  • Selling includes supporting the acquisition of new business
  • Cross-selling additional products & services to existing customers (during pro-active telephone conversations).
  • Extracting existing Trader, Distributor/Aggregator data to identify expansion and/or additional business opportunities.
  • Timeously act on leads received.
  • Be knowledgeable about Enterprise Banking CVP and products offered.
  • Market and provide information about Enterprise Banking products to customers
  • Manage re-stocking of airtime and other physical stocks from Suppliers.
  • Keeping a record of the stocks purchased and monitor utilization.
  • Ensure successful closure of aggregators or traders that qualify as Enterprise Banking Clients

2) Customer Service Quality and Efficiency

  • Work in close collaboration with Aggregators and Nomanini to provide a flawless service delivery to traders
  • Review of Management Information (MI) from Nomanini on Aggregators and Trader performance and proactively manage any potential service and delivery issues
  • Performing a liaison role between Bank, Aggregators/Distributors, Nomanini and Traders to fulfil service, delivery and stock management functions.
  • Educating stakeholders regarding the parameters and routine procedures governing the Nomanini / Stanbic Bank Model. Wrong and unprofitable stakeholder behaviour should not be encouraged.
  • Assisting with Traders Telephonic enquiries, especially of management of stock gotten on credit.
  • Providing superior customer service as measured by customer feedback/customer satisfaction surveys, including NPS.

3) Lending Support

  • Working in collaboration with Distributors and Nomanini, explain the stock credit solutions and the qualifying criteria to Traders.
  • Working in collaboration with Nomanini to train the Traders on how to use the Digital channel to borrow stock digitally.
  • Train the Traders on how to repay their debt. Explain to traders the importance of repaying their debt and the importance of paying timely.

4) Compliance with Legislation

  • KYC Lite Compliance shall be used for Traders
  • Aggregators / Distributors will be signed on following Stanbic Procurement Criteria and will be managed by Procurement of GRES
  • Providing complete disclosure to Traders and Aggregators in terms of accreditation, service fees and commission.
  • Conduct a needs analysis to identify Traders needs effectively at the point of on-boarding or giving product advice.
  • Ensure proper record keeping in terms of local financial legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Keeping abreast with Regulatory changes and requirements and ensure compliance of the same timely
  • Ensure KYC documentation requirements is adhered to.
  • Work with Bank Compliance Team to ensure timely screening of transactions as well as frequent screening of Traders and Aggregators
  • Ensure up-to-date contact details are recorded for all Traders and Aggregators / Distributors

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • Degree in Business Commerce or  IT or  Computer Science  or related field. MBA will be added advantage
  • 2 to 5 years retail banking experience
  • Experience working with a diversity of clients.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge in credit and compliance matters
  • Valid driver’s Licence and willing to travel.
