The key purpose of this role is to develop, champion, and drive trade execution strategies across all market segments. The successful candidate will develop, adopt, and localise marketing and brand strategies in line with Zone strategies while ensuring excellent marketing representation of the brands within the Lesotho market.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Marketing
  • Conduct consumer research and understand consumer drivers.
  • Adopt existing marketing campaigns from the Brand Team and localise them for the Lesotho market.
  • Conceptualise, create, and execute original local marketing strategies and campaigns for key focus brands.
  • Develop and monitor campaign KPIs and ROI.
  • Align marketing strategies with trade marketing execution strategies.
  • Develop and implement 180° or 360° communication and media plans across multiple platforms.
  • Liaise with and deliver Brand Team assignments and requests.
  • Represent Lesotho Marketing within the Zone by demonstrating marketing plans and results.
  • Build understanding among Sales, Trade Marketing, and Marketing teams regarding brand purpose, personality, consumers, and strategic goals.
  • Analyse and report on portfolio performance by brand and packaging, providing recommendations based on market share, sales volume, economic factors, pricing, and strategic targets.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and brief agencies on marketing campaigns and deliverables.
  • Plan, manage, and monitor the marketing budget.
Trade Marketing
  • Understand Business Unit trade marketing strategies and align them with local trade schemes.
  • Develop trade programmes and campaigns across all segments in collaboration with the Zone Marketing Team.
  • Drive the implementation of trade programmes within the Lesotho market.
  • Monitor Trade Programme KPIs.
  • Develop and implement a Category Management Strategy.
  • Monitor Category Management execution KPIs.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement to ensure effective execution of the Modern Trade Category Management Strategy.
  • Develop key performance measures, tracking tools, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Build capability within the Sales and Trade Marketing teams.
  • Conduct trade reviews, evaluating strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  • Research innovative trade marketing materials and concepts.
  • Ensure timely implementation of trade programmes.
  • Oversee cooler and draught implementation strategies.
  • Plan, submit, and monitor Sales and CAPEX budgets.
Management
  • Present marketing and trade marketing plans and results to stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
  • Foster a high-performance culture within the Sales and Trade Marketing teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Photo editing knowledge will be an advantage.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in sales, marketing, or FMCG environments.

A successful candidate will combine strategic marketing expertise, trade marketing execution, commercial acumen, consumer insights, budget management, and strong leadership skills to grow brand performance and strengthen market execution in Lesotho.
