Job Title : Trade Instructor (Plumbing Technology)

Job Summary: Instructor must be extremely knowledgeable in their field of expertise and must possess solid technical aptitude. Additionally he/she is expected to be an excellent communicator, team leader and possess good inter- personal skills. The goal is to contribute to the development of student’s technical skills to meet current socio-economic challenges.
Under the supervision of senior instructor, the trade instructor is responsible for teaching and assisting students as well as monitoring them on industrial attachment.

Qualifications:
- Certificate in Plumbing Technology plus trade certificate in a relevant programme.
- Advanced Technical Teachers Certificate in Plumbing Technology plus two years’ experience in craftsmanship.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Implementing Technical training programmes according to TVD and MSCM requirements.
Producing training schedules and lesson planning, preparation and research.
Determining course content according the objectives of LOIC and TVD.
Ensuring the availability of working tools and equipment to facilitate smooth running of lesson.
Keeping and reporting data on completed courses, absenteeism etc
Observing and evaluating results of programs.
Enforcing discipline and procedures for maintaining order among students for whom he/she is responsible.
Instructing and monitoring students in the use and care of equipment, in order to prevent injuries and damages.
Attending training and staff meetings as scheduled.
Managing the training tools and materials allocated to the department.
Ensuring that students make proper housekeeping in classrooms and workshops daily so as to adhere to the health and safety standards.
Executing any other assignment that may be assigned to him/her by Senior Instructor or LOIC
Management.
