JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Head of Programme, the Trade Instructor is responsible for teaching and assisting students as well as monitoring them on industrial attachment. Conducts curriculum review, internal examination moderation, students counselling and discipline, and assists in the overall development of the programme.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  The key duties of the post are as follows :- Prepares lessons and/or training materials, delivers lectures and conducts practicals, for 20 to 24 hours per week; Enforces technical procedures on students to facilitate constant adherence to safety rules and standard; Ensures availability of working tools and equipment to facilitate smooth running of lessons; Conducts tests and examinations; Monitors students on industrial attachment to obtain feedback on their progress; Ensures discipline of students; Guides Assistant Trade Instructors on regular basis to ensure adherence to and maintenance of good teaching standards; and Perform any other duties that may be assigned by supervisors. 

NB* Because of the changing nature of our business your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.  
JOB SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS Diploma in Related Field of work plus Craft Certificate in relevant programme. OR Advanced Technical Teachers Certificate in Plumbing plus two (2) years experience in craftsmanship OR A Teachers qualification, Plumbing Certificate plus two (2) years experience. 

Experience Two (2) years field experience for certificate holders 

Knowledge and skills Required: Must be able to teach theory and practical courses in Plumbing and/or sheet-metal work.  
Personal attributes   Self motivated
Good interpersonal Skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Be able to work with students from different backgrounds
Be willing to supervise students for activities outside the class (eg. sports)
