Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Compliance Manager, the Trade Inspector is responsible for ensuring that businesses registered at the One-Stop Business Facilitation Centre comply with all relevant legislation. The role includes conducting inspections, handling consumer complaints, and advising the business community on regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure licenses, business identification cards, and certificates of trade names are visibly displayed at trading outlets
- Verify that all trading operations are covered by valid trade licenses or business identification cards
- Conduct physical inspections of goods to confirm they are sold under proper licensing
- Participate in joint business inspections
- Address consumer complaints related to trade malpractices at the district level
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to facilitate reports and evidence for litigation
- Work closely with Business Extension Officers and Licensing Officers to ensure rational distribution of business activities
- Assist Business Extension Officers with follow-up activities on trader training courses
- Submit regular progress reports on work activities
