The competition is open to anyone.

Details
The Seán Ó Faoláin Short Story Competition is an annual short story competition sponsored by the Munster Literature Centre, a non-profit arts organisation based in Cork city, Ireland.

The competition is for original, unpublished and unbroadcast short stories in the English language of 3,000 words or fewer. The story can be on any subject, in any style.

This year’s judge is Simon Van Booy.

Entry fee
€18 per story

Prizes
• 1st prize: €2,000, publication in the literary journal Southword, a week-long residency at Anam Cara Writer’s and Artist’s Retreat.
• 2nd prize: €500 and publication in Southword.
• Four Runners-Up: €250 and publication in Southword.
