Who may enter
The competition is open to anyone over the age of 16.

Details 
The competition is organised by The Moth, an international arts and literature magazine.

Entries must be a single short story written in English. There is a word limit of 5,000.

Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been published, self-published, published online or broadcast.

This year’s judge is Ali Smith.

Entry fee
The entry fee is €15 per story.

Prizes
• 1st prize: €3,000
• 2nd prize: week-long writing retreat at Circle of Misse in France plus €250 for travel
• 3rd prize: €1,000
