Short description
The competition is organized by The Masters Review, an American literary magazine and book publisher.

Welcome to our Winter Short Story Award for New Writers, a prize that recognizes the best fiction from today’s emerging writers.

We don’t have any preferences topically or in terms of style. We’re simply looking for the best. We don’t define, nor are we interested in, stories identified by their genre. We do, however, consider ourselves a publication that focuses on literary fiction. Dazzle us, take chances, and be bold.

You may submit stories under 6,000 words.

Only previously unpublished work will be accepted.

Entries should be in English.

The competition will be judged by Ye Chun.

Entry fee
The entry fee is $20.

Prizes
• 1st place: US$3,000 and publication online
• 2nd place: US$300
