The Derwent Art Prize 2021 Competition

The call for entries of the Derwent Art Prize 2021 competition is open and artists from around the world are invited to submit their best pencil works.

The Derwent Art Prize aims to reward excellence by showcasing the very best 2D & 3D artworks created in pencil or colored pencil as well as water soluble, pastel, graphite and charcoal by British and International artists.

Selected artworks will be displayed at Gallery@OXO in central London from 24 February – 6 March 2022. Alongside the chosen artworks being hung in a public display, prizes totaling £12,500 will be awarded in an awards ceremony on the opening night of the exhibition.

Artists are invited to enter and submit up to 6 images.

The total prize fund for 2021/2022 includes the following prizes:

  • First Prize – £4,000 plus a year’s supply of Derwent products
  • Second Prize – £2,000
  • Young Artist First Prize – For artists under 25 years £4,000
  • Young Artist Second Prize – For artists under 25 years £2,000
  • People’s Choice Award – £500

The Derwent Art Prize was conceived in 2012 and aims to reward excellence by showcasing the very best artworks created in pencil by British and International artists.

The Derwent Art Prize 2021 Competition – Entry Fees

The entry fee is £15 for the first work and £5 for additional works. The entry fee for Artists under 25 years of age is £5 per work.
