Canon Collins Scholars and Alumni are driving change in different ways across the region. This year’s Change Maker Award is now open for submission.

Our world is in crisis. It needs committed change makers to bring their best forward. Are you that change maker? Are you involved in a social change initiative in your community? Submit your initiative to the Change Maker Award and stand the chance of winning a R20 000 project grant.

Get valuable exposure and stand a chance to win for your work. Tell us about the initiative, and the difference it is making to a community or group of people. Your project will feature on our website below.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Applicants must be a Canon Collins Trust scholar or alum.
• Initiatives should reflect the core ideals of the Trust; and contribute to a more open and just society in southern Africa (What are our values? Read here: https://canoncollins.org/about/).
• The project must be already established. New project proposals will not be considered.
• You must be able to say how the award monies will be used to enhance your work.
• Winners from the last 3 years are not eligible to compete in 2022.

The DEADLINE for submission is 11.59pm (SAST) 30 June 2022.

SELECTION PROCESS
Winners will be selected by fellow scholars and alumni through two elections.

• 4th – 10th July: Alumni and scholars vote online to select a shortlist
• 12th July: 6 shortlisted applicants are announced
• 18th July: The shortlisted candidates submit elevator pitch on video (1 – 2 mins) to be broadcast at the Annual Scholars’ Conference July 29-31.
• 30th July: Final winners selected by ballot at the Canon Collins Conference.
