The AO Trauma Middle East and Northern Africa (AO TMENA) Research Grants are funded by the AO TMENA Region of the AO Foundation, a Switzerland-based nonprofit organization. The AO TMENA Research Grants have an independent review committee and support projects dealing with trauma, surgery of the locomotor system, and related clinical research. The research grants are
intended to provide young investigators (40 years old or younger) projects with seed money and are not intended as an ongoing funding source for established laboratories.
AO Trauma Middle East and Northern Africa (AO TMENA) is offering the following type of grant:
- Up to CHF 8,000 funding per AO TMENA Research Grant for research projects up to one year in length
Requirements
This grant is designed to encourage individual researchers and research groups in Middle East and Northern Africa. The AO TMENA Research Grants are aimed at developing innovative projects within the following research fields:
- Musculoskeletal trauma
- Bone infection

Who can apply for an AO TMENA Research Grant?
Individual clinicians/researchers and research groups in the Middle East and Northern Africa Region are welcome to apply. The principal investigator must be 40 years or younger.
What do you need to know?
All applications will be peer reviewed by at least two known experts from the AO TMENA Research Committee.
Please note that due to limited financial resources, a limited number of projects will be approved.
The decisions will be communicated at the end of May 2021.
