Introduction
The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), through its Department of Rural Water Supply (DRWS), has received funds from the Government of Lesotho to procure services for the maintenance of gravity systems, hand pumps, and pumping systems in the ten districts of Lesotho. MNR hereby invites tenders from competent contractors interested in contracting their services with DRWS.
Work Description
Tender Title: DRWS, System Maintenance Programme, 2025–2026

The contract involves the maintenance of hand pumps, solar and electrical pumping systems, and gravity systems across all ten districts of Lesotho. Additional information and requirements are detailed in the Tender Documents.
Bidder Qualifications
• Bidders must be in DRWS Category C & D
• Must be registered companies in Lesotho
• A bid security of M10,000.00 in the form of a bank guarantee valid for 120 days is required
Site Visit / Pre-Tender Meeting
A pre-tender meeting will be held on 11th June 2025 at 10:00 AM at the DRWS Resources Centre, Khubetsoana.
There are no planned site visits; however, bidders are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the districts and sites to assess the scope of work and timeframes.
Tender Submission
Tender documents are available at the DRWS Head Office, Accounts Office, Maseru, for a non-refundable fee of M2,000.00, payable in cash. Documents will be available from Friday, 30th May 2025 until 23rd June 2025.
Upon payment, bidders must present the receipt to the Procurement Unit to receive a soft copy of the Tender Document.
Submission Deadline:
Bids must be submitted by 10:00 AM on 2nd July 2025.
Submissions must include:
• One (1) original
• One soft copy
• A sealed financial proposal
All documents must be deposited in the Tender Box at the Ministry of Water, DRWS Office, Khubetsoana, Resource Centre (next to Appropriate Technology Services – ATS), in a sealed envelope clearly marked:
“Tender for DRWS, System Maintenance Programme, 2025–2026.”

• Valid Trader’s License
• VAT Certificate
• Valid Tax Clearance Certificate
Tender Opening
Bids will be opened by the Ministry of Natural Resources Procurement Committee on 2nd July 2025 at 10:30 AM at the DRWS Office, Khubetsoana, Resource Centre, in the presence of bidders or their representatives who wish to attend.
