1. Introduction
The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), through its Department of Water Affairs (DWA), is undertaking a strategic initiative to enhance Lesotho’s national hydrological database. As part of this effort, DWA seeks to engage technical company services to construct hydrometric stations (towers) and erect three to four staff ranges across the country.
This work is essential to:
- Expand the national water monitoring network
- Collect data via installed data loggers
- Modernize hydrological monitoring practices
- Support informed and resilient water resource management
MNR hereby invites tenders from competent contractors for the construction of 20 hydrometric stations along the:
- Senqu River (Orange River downstream)
- Mohokare River (Caledon River)
- Makhaleng River
2. Work Description

3. Bidder Qualifications
- Bid security of M50,000.00 in the form of a bank guarantee, valid for 120 days
- Valid certified copies of:
- DRWS Certificate (certified at source)
- Trader’s License
- VAT Certificate
- Tax Clearance Certificate
- All contractors and suppliers must be tax compliant

- Tender Document Fee: M3,000.00 (non-refundable), payable in cash
