Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all requests for tender meet the requirements to start the tender process.
  • Draw up administrative documentation to initiate tender process.
  • Compile tender documents.
  • Compile tender evaluations inclusive of price-scheduling and comparisons.
  • Facilitate tender briefing sessions and site visits with suppliers.
  • Compile communication documentation to tenderers.
  • Process orders on Oracle system.
  • Expedite orders until full completion.
  • Diploma in Procurement
  • 3 – 6 years experience in the relevant field.

Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:

  • Knowledge of the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act 2000
  • Knowledge of the VAT Act.
  • Knowledge of the B0BBEE Act, 2003 and Associated Codes of Good Practice
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act
  • Full knowledge of tender process and procedure.
  • Extensive computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite)
  • Experience in contract administration.
  • Accuracy, including figure-work.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Able to function well under pressure.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Good interpersonal relations and client-service orientation.
  • Integrity and high ethical standards are non-negotiable.

Recommendations:

  • Previous experience as a Tender Administrator in the Procurement function.
  • Oracle experience of the PO module.
