TITLE : Temporary Assistant HTC Counsellors (60)

SUMMARY: CID-LINK
Under the new project “CID-LINK”, the incumbent will offer high quality HIV Testing Services (HTS) to the Lesotho public according to established counseling protocols, policies and guidelines. This position is based in the 5 PEPFAR supported districts and reports to Team leader with dotted line to HTS Coordinator.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide HIV testing and Counseling sessions as per counseling protocols and guidelines.
Provide supportive counseling to HIV positive clients
Assist clients in the selection of appropriate community support through referrals
Data entry of confidential client information
Compile weekly and monthly report
Quality Assurance:
Participate in the QA
assessment as required by the national standards
Ensure standardized disposal procedures are
maintained at all times
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Diploma in Counseling or related discipline and a minimum of 1-year experience in HTS provision.
Must have undergone and completed the PSI HTS training
KEY COMPETENCIES:
Ability to perform according to PSI Prime competencies
Knowledge on HIV/AIDS
Practical experience of providing HIV Testing Services
Knowledge of the Lesotho health and social services sector
Ability and willingness to work outside normal working hours, as required by scheduling
Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and compassionately with diverse groups
Strong interpersonal skills, to include fluency in English and Sesotho
Personal commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS
