Remote Work – 6‑Week Field Assignment
Solar Lights Pty Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified and committed candidates for a 6‑week field assignment in very remote areas across Lesotho.
Position: Technicians × 6
Project Scope
Successful candidates will be deployed across five (5) districts and nine (9) Community Councils, working in remote and hard‑to‑reach areas to support the installation of Solar Home Systems (SHS).
Key Responsibilities
- Install Solar Home Systems at household level
- Train beneficiaries on proper and safe use of SHS
- Ensure beneficiaries understand system operation
- Obtain household signatures confirming:
- Installation completion
- Training received
- Record and submit accurate installation data, including:
- Household details
- GPS coordinates
- Maintain high quality and professionalism in all installations
- Travel long distances, including walking to remote households where vehicles cannot reach
Requirements – Technician
- Minimum qualification: Certificate in Electrical Installation, Engineering, Solar Installation, or a related field
- Proven ability to install and troubleshoot solar systems
- Strong practical skills and problem‑solving ability
General Requirements (All Applicants)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Physically fit and able to work in very remote areas
- Willingness to walk long distances
- Disciplined, reliable, and able to work under pressure
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records
- Availability for the full 6‑week assignment
Remuneration
- Payment based on quality‑assured installations per household
- Payment made upon completion of the assignment
