Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned positions. The positions are tenable in the Transmission and Distribution Department. The position is based at LEC Polihali Site. The incumbents will be responsible to the Area Manager Mokhotlong.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 2 years experience in the field of electrical engineering.
• Technical problem solving & leadership skills.
• Maintenance of High Voltage equipment e.g. Lines and Substations.
• National and International Electrical Codes and Standards.
• Must be Computer Literate.
• Valid Driver’s Licence is essential.
• Planning, organising and communicating skills.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Among others, the incumbent will be responsible for performing the following:
• Test installations (Domestic, general purpose, industries & large commercial) for compliance with the wiring standards and regulations.
• Issue test certificate for the tested installations.
• Survey applicants & prepare quotations.
• Carry out safety testing and earthling on “dead” and isolated network.
• Do network switching as per authorisation.
• Testing of the status of the network.
• Issue permit to work, sanction for test and limitation of access.
• Carry out maintenance on substation equipment and lines.
• Carry out fault finding, fault analysis and rectification during network failures.
• Carry out cable jointing and terminations.
• Do root-cause analysis on the faults.
• Ensure adherence to Safety rules and Regulations by subordinates
• Adheres to accepted industry maintenance standards, equipment manufacturers’ recommendations and LEC Engineering Manuals.
• Supervises, tests and commissions new connections.
• Execute network extensions and installations of transformers.
• Update network maps
• Liaise with public during implementation of works
• Produce reports, supervise maintenance teams and execute maintenance plans.
• Attend to emergencies during normal and abnormal working hours including standby duties
• Reports all network abnormalities to the supervisors.
