• TECHNICIAN
Thaba Tseka
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position. The position is tenable in Thaba Tseka, Transmission & Distribution Department. The incumbent will be responsible to the Area Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• BSc Electrical Engineering or BTech Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of Electrical Engineering
• Maintenance of High Voltage equipment e.g Lines & Substations.
• National and International Electrical Codes and Standards.
• Computer Literacy is essential.
• Valid driver’s licence is essential.
• Technical and problem solving & team building skills.
• Organising and facilitation skills.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Among others, the incumbent will be responsible for performing the following:
• Switching, network as per authorisation and testing status of the network.
• Carry out fault finding, fault analysis and rectification.
• Test installations (Domestic, general purpose, industries & large commercial) for compliance with the wiring standards and regulations.
• Issue test certificate for the tested installations.
• Survey applicants & prepare quotations.
• Supervising, inspecting, testing and commissioning of distribution network.
• Maintaining lines, substations and performing systems improvements.
• Jointing and terminating HV cables.
• Carrying out network inspections and documenting defects for rectification.
• Preparing maintenance progress reports and service connections reports.
• Updating network maps.
• Implementing maintenance plans and schedules.
• Carrying out safety tests.
• Producing reports and supervising maintenance teams
