Metabase is looking for a technical writer to help bring us to the next level! Documentation is the primary way our customers learn about our product and we want somebody to help ensure that the documentation is clear, correct, comprehensive, and easy to use. We are looking for great writers with strong technical proficiencies.

About the job
In a typical week you may:
- Write up a new blog post about a recent release.
- Work with a customer to document their environment so we can use it as a real-world reference.
- Record and publish an interactive video of how to use a new feature.
- Put together an awesome tutorial our customers can use to get started.
This is a remote position with no geographical requirements. You’ll likely be working with folks in Seattle, San Francisco, and Copenhagen.

About you
We’re looking for somebody that is technically proficient and can easily translate deep technical content into a format that is easy to consume. We have several different projects we want you to focus on including improvements to our existing documentation, building out a site for customers to learn more about different parts of Metabase, and creating video tutorials.
You will be a good fit for this job if you:
- Have excellent attention to detail.
- Have excellent skills in writing, editing, research, and planning.
- Can easily translate technical know-how to accessible content.
- Enjoy helping make people’s lives easier through documentation
- Have strong opinions about how documentation can be both technically accurate and user friendly.
- Love building examples for people to better understand a topic.
- Have 2+ years of experience in a content-development, or customer-facing, technical role such as technical training, technical writing, technical account management, customer success engineering, or enterprise architecture.
We don’t expect you to be a Metabase expert on day one, but solid fundamentals with analytics and BI systems would be helpful.
