Here in our Johannesburg office we are looking to recruit for a Technical Support Officer to help in the Support of systems through maintenance, modification, and problem resolution to support ongoing delivery of services and/or operations. You will serve as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource and provide technical knowledge and capabilities as a member of a team or as an individual contributor.


Responsibilities

  • Engage in business impacting production incidents and end-user problem tickets to work through to resolution, including pc/laptop/thin client hardware, pc / Virtual desktop software, printer 1st level diagnosis, Audio Visual / Telepresence troubleshooting, Blackberry / Android / IOS mobility devices, network connectivity, etc
  • Reviews system documentation for accuracy and update as necessary
  • Assists Business Technology Partners in working through issues and engaging appropriate operational resources
  • Software and system fault diagnosis, analysis and fix
  • Ownership of all user problems through to completion
  • Risk awareness of technology and business impact
  • Keep customers updated with problem status at all times
  • Identifying and reporting risk as appropriate in accordance with the guidelines provided
  • Engaging with technology partners & vendors on a day to day basis
  • Some out-of-hours and weekend work will be required
  • Assist with support for multi-media broadcasting


Core skills

  • Experience in providing end user support or similar Industry role specific experience
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSE/MCSA/MCP’s)
  • Experience of a trading environment
  • Market data certification / Training would be advantageous
  • ITIL Foundations would be advantageous
  • Technic Relevant desktop support experience with a strong knowledge of Windows 7/10 and MS Office Suite
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Respond to queriesincidents and log trouble tickets with vendors to resolve hardware, network or software problems
  • Support the testing or roll-out of new applications
  • Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
  • Telephony / Audio Visual troubleshooting capabilities and ability to quickly diagnose / isolate issues
  • Mobility & Remote Connectivity Products support knowledge
