Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions tenable in the Ministry of Health.
JOB TITLLE : TECHNICAL OFFICER (ELECTRICAL)
GRADE : D
RESPONSIBLE TO : SENIOR TECHNICAL OFFICER
DUTY STATION : DISTRICT
MAIN DUTIES
- To carry out maintenance and repair works of electrical equipment, fittings, appliances, mortars etc. except biomedical equipment
- Conduct Health Service Area (HSA) Preventive maintenance with minimum supervision.
- Repair most non-Medical equipment to the work and increasingly be able to repair some of the less sophisticated Medical equipment.
- Manage an efficient and well organised work-shop and be responsible for the care and security of HSA maintenance tools and equipment.
- Assist the HSA Administrator in preparing maintenance schedules, work-plans for TSD visit to the HSA, and identify unserviceable equipment for disposal.
- Be on call after hours to respond to maintenance problems at the hospital.
- Contact the appropriate TSD and give precise and accurate explanations or repair problems.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Certificate in Electrical Installation and minimum of one (1) year experience in relevant field
