DVV International is the Institute for International Cooperation of the Deutscher Volkshochschul-Verband e.V. (DVV), the German Adult Education Association. DVV represents the interests of approximately 900 adult education centres (Volkshochschulen) and their state associations, the largest further education providers in Germany. As the leading professional organisation in the field of adult education and development cooperation, DVV International has committed itself to supporting lifelong learning for 50 years. DVV International provides worldwide support for the establishment and development of sustainable structures for Youth and Adult Education. In Africa, DVV is currently working in 10 countries. DVV has developed a Pan-African online platform for adult education professionals and is seeking a part-time (50%) technical manager. Working as part of a team, the selected candidate will perform the following duties, and possess the qualifications and experience listed herein.

Task and Duties:
Support the content & community manager with technical aspects of uploading content onto the MOJA platform (incl. support with correct usage of the content templates, content categorisation, etc.).
Work with the content & community manager with the technical set-up and distribution of regular MOJA newsletter mailings. This includes technical adjustments (e.g. with simple HTML/CSS coding) of the newsletter, managing the subscriber list and monitoring newsletter.
Technical management of the MOJA platform content categorisation in close coordination with the content & community manager as well as the Advisory Group. This includes adjusting and/or expanding the content categories in line with requirements arising from new content added to the platform.
Supporting the content & community manager with managing MOJA’s social media channels (presently Twitter, Facebook and YouTube). This includes the technical management of these channels as well as posting content provided by the content manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant university degree, preferably at master’s level in computer science.
A minimum of three years technical experience in the support and development of websites, uploading and editing of various content – static and dynamic.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Ability to solve technical problems effectively and creatively.
Up-to-date knowledge with the latest Web trends, techniques, and technologies including the use of various social media channels.
Technical knowledge and skills to ensure good website user experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
