Job Summary

As Technical Lead – OVC for the KB project, you will be responsible for the technical oversight of the OVC and AGYW project components, including work plan development and reporting. The position will provide high level support in providing technical direction to project implementation and ensure that the OVC and AGYW results are met. You will also ensure strong linkages with prevention and other components of the project to advance the delivery of high-quality programming to OVC, AGYW and their households.

Roles and Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee implementation and quality of all KB OVC and AGYW activities in collaboration with other technical leads.
  • Train and mentor partners and sub-recipients involved in provision of care to OVC, including case management approaches.
  • Guide the community care and support provided to children, adolescents and families enrolled in the project.
  • Design and support referral and linkage pathways between and within partners, with a focus on maximizing HIV and TB case-finding.
  • Liaise with personnel from Government ministries and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support on-going capacity-building initiatives within Government ministries.
  • Provide technical direction to project implementation and ensure that OVC and AGYW results are achieved.
  • Support capacity strengthening initiatives in OVC and AGYW programming for KB staff and partners through helping develop learning and training strategies and agendas/curriculums, conducting trainings and workshops, and coaching.
  • Collect and analyze program data, capture and share lessons learned and best practices for the KB project to facilitate improvements in decision-making and contribute to the project’s learning agenda.
  • Contribute to maintaining relationships with donors, peer organizations, research and other institutions, participate in forums in the area of OVC and AGYW to collect and share best practices and promote CRS’ work.

Basic Qualifications 

  • Master’s Degree in social sciences, social work, child development, education or related field required.
  • Minimum of five years relevant working experience in an advisory or management role with progressive responsibilities, ideally with an international NGO, with minimum of three years working for programming interventions in the field of OVC and HIV.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing programs that address the needs of vulnerable children and adolescents, adolescents living with HIV, OVC, AGYW, caregiver support, economic strengthening, child protection, violence against children, case management, early childhood development, OVC policy and advocacy.
  • Previous experience providing technical assistance and developing successful proposals for external donor funding is required.
  • Demonstrated skills in project reporting, preferably for PEPFAR-funded OVC programs
  • Familiarity with Lesotho’s institutional, policy and programming context for OVC desirable
  • Demonstrated application of technical principles and concepts in OVC programming
  • General knowledge of other related disciplines to ensure proper cross-sectoral approach.
  • Experience in business development, project design and proposal development in OVC programming, including technical writing.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, facilitation and training applying adult learning principles and practices.
  • Experience with program monitoring and evaluation, including applying data collection tools and methodologies, data analysis, and data presentation.
  • Experience and skills in networking and relations with donors, peer organizations, and faith-based and civil society partners. Understanding of partnership principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, information and budget management systems, knowledge-sharing networks.

Required Languages – Fluency in English and Sesotho

Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 30%.
