Job Purpose

To provide technical support for Card

To Facilitate UAT of all card changes and projects

To partake in annual pricing committee seating for card products

To evaluate that the card changes are in-line with the bank strategy (Digitization, simplification, secure, always on, client centric, IT efficiency, Employee Engagement)

To coordinate the implementation of the card changes

To analyse the benefit realization of the card changes/projects, (Financial, efficiency)

To facilitate status reporting on all card changes current vs outstanding.

To make sure that the bank is compliant with regulatory requirements and card industry standards such as PCI and ISO

To analyse and advise business with trends in evolving card solutions

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Design and implement disaster recovery plans across all Card management and switching systems.
  • Define and implement as well as reviewing Fraud check rules on both FRM and FALCON systems to create secure card transactability.
  • Monthly and ad-hoc reporting on both Debit and credit card performance in terms of Volumes, authorization rate, card loyalty, etc.
  • Ensure that Standard Lesotho Bank card stock levels are always kept at optimum levels to meet need for new cards as well as managing wastage.
  • Ensure that both Bank’s card Issuing, switching and acquiring platforms are compliant with card Schemes (Visa, MasterCard, UPI, etc) PCI standards, ISO standards and Central bank.
  • Regular monitoring of Card Switching, Issuing and Acquiring platforms to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Assist CCC, PBB Card and Reconciliation departments with queries resolution
  • Define procedures to reconcile base II files with Auths to help business finding out discrepancies
  • Perform research on the latest card technology and advise business on the future card offerings that can be made
  • Training on both IT and business to understands card basics
  • Define and maintain all card integration points with Schemes, core banking, Local switches and third parties.
  • Support in Card solutions User acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Encryption keys management

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • First Degree in any of the following IT and Computer Sciences, Computer/ Computer Systems Engineering, Information Systems
  • ITIL Foundation Certification is an added advantage
  • At least three-year experience in any of the following areas: Technical support, Systems Administration, Card Support, Electronic Banking/Channels Support, Programming, Database Administration (especially Oracle)
  • Technically competent with knowledge of systems support, development and implementation methods and Project Planning/Administration
  • Must have knowledge of Core banking systems, Card payments Industry Standards
  • Banking/financial industry experience would be an added advantage
  • Two years’ experience in a multi-national organization is an added advantage

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise

  • SAFe framework knowledge is an added advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of ISO 8583 and 8587 standards is an added advantage
  • A certificate in Oracle DB administration would be an added advantage
  • Understanding of Card schemes rules is an added advantage
  • Basic understanding of IP networks is needed
  • Basic understanding of Card platforms like, CMS, Base 24, Base 2000 is an added advantage
  • Understanding of Integration technologies (e.g MQ, SOAP, XML-RPC) is an added advantage
  • Basic understanding of EMV technology is key
