Do you have a passion for local cuisine, communal cooking traditions, and vocational training? Are you skilled in teaching and demonstrating practical culinary methods in Hot Pot preparation and service? SCDI is seeking applications for the position of Lecturer – Technical and Vocational Training: Hot Pot.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons in Hot Pot preparation, presentation, and service
  • Designing and reviewing curricula that reflect local food culture and international Hot Pot trends
  • Mentoring students, assessing performance, and preparing them for employment or entrepreneurship
  • Building strong industry relationships with Hot Pot businesses, chefs, and hospitality networks
  • Upholding quality assurance, food safety, and vocational training standards

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

  • A First Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant industry or teaching experience
  • OR a Diploma in the same fields with at least 7 years of experience

Certifications:

  • TVET Instructor Certification
  • Teaching Methodology Certification (Mandatory)
  • Assessor/Moderator Certification (Preferred)

Professional Affiliations:

  • Membership in relevant technical or academic bodies (e.g., Beauty and Cosmetology Associations, TVET Academic Bodies)

Competencies and Attributes:

  • Deep understanding of Hot Pot cuisine (local and international)
  • Strong teaching, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Innovation in food preparation, presentation, and service models
  • High standards of hygiene and quality control
  • Commitment to vocational excellence and student success
