Role Overview: Tech Lead
The Tech Lead acts as the primary shield and organizer for the development team, managing all technical tasks in ClickUp and ensuring developers can focus on building without distractions. This role requires strong technical expertise, accountability for code quality, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
a) Team Protection & Task Management (50%)
- Shield developers from direct requests and interruptions
- Organize and maintain all technical tasks in ClickUp
- Create dashboards to measure team velocity
- Review and filter incoming requests
- Manage technical backlog and sprint planning (Agile)
- Track and report on productivity metrics
- Mentor and manage web developers
b) Stakeholder Coordination (25%)
- Prioritize technical initiatives with leadership
- Translate business needs into technical requirements
- Provide monthly dashboard summaries
- Push back on misaligned requests
- Recommend web technologies and tools
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding developers
- Provide IT support and digital security training
- Oversee external consultants and technical documentation
- Support analytics and data flow between platforms
c) Code Quality & Process Improvement (25%)
- Enforce code quality and accessibility standards
- Implement code review processes
- Monitor technical debt and quality metrics
- Write code when available
- Optimize ClickUp workflows
- Document technical decisions
- Oversee testing and QA
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years with: PostgreSQL/DrizzleORM, TypeScript/Node, React/Next.js/Gatsby.js, TailwindCSS, Shopify, PHP/Laravel, WordPress, Moodle
- Strong TypeScript skills highly valued
- 2+ years managing development teams or technical projects
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with ClickUp or similar project management tools
- Strong Google Workspace administration experience
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Looker Studio)
- Interest in social justice and/or reproductive rights is a plus
