Project description

The programme “Support to Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) in Lesotho” – agreed between the Government of Lesotho and the EU Delegation in April 2019 – is supported by the BMZ programme “Transboundary Water Management in the SADC region (TWM)” (implemented by GIZ) and aims that “ICM facilitates socio-economic development and adaptation to climate change in Lesotho”. Its specific objective is to institutionalise ICM and is fully functional, based on gender equality and climate adaptation principles.
 
GIZ seeks to procure the services of a contractor (consultancy firm or consortium) to provide support to various management processes of the Action that are grouped into four work packages: 

  1.   Supporting the monitoring system for the Action;
  2.   Facilitating team events and planning workshops;
  3.   Supporting Organisational Development of the ICM Coordination Unit (ICU);
  4.   Supporting Digitalization of the Action’s management processes.

Job description

  • Overall responsibility for the services to be delivered by the contractor
  • Ensuring the relevance and complementarity of the services of the contractor with other programme activities at regional, national and local and level
  • Main point of contact for GIZ and its partners, including regular and ad hoc personal, verbal and written communication on the progress of service delivery
  • Conceptual and methodological oversight of all processes and quality control of all deliverables/products produced by the contractor
  • Team leadership in view of adequate allocation of tasks to specific experts’ skill sets and experience, productive team dynamics and coherent communication to GIZ, partners and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Education/training: Post-graduate University qualification in management sciences or other relevant discipline
  • Language: Good business language skills in English (C1 or equivalent)
  • General professional experience: 10 years of professional experience in the area of management consulting
  • Specific professional experience: 5 years of professional experience in monitoring systems, organisational development and/or IT-solutions
  • Leadership/management experience: 5 years of management/leadership experience as project team leader or manager in a company
  • Regional experience: 3 years of experience in managing projects/consultancies in developing countries
  • Development Cooperation (DC) experience: 3 years of experience in DC projects Development Cooperation experience: 2 experts with 5 years of relevant experience
